There are exactly three weeks (corrected – thanks Celine!) until the release of MARK OF THE THIEF! I am so excited to share this book with you. Here is one of my favorite quotes from the book:
In this scene, Nic has just met Valerius, one of the Senators of Rome. Valerius notices a mark on Nic’s back that he got from a griffin named Caela. Until Valerius tells Nic about it, Nic had assumed it was only a deep scratch.
Senator Valerius leaned down to me and whispered, “I am your friend, but do not trust that anyone else in Rome will feel the same way. I will try to get to the mines before dark. Until then, understand that the mark on your back is no scratch. It doesn’t matter how you got it, only that there are people who will kill you if they see it.”
Despite the rudeness of looking directly at him, my eyes met his. “Why?” I asked. “What’s there?”

Mrs Nielsen – that sounds creepy! Maybe griffin scratches or bites or whatever or poisonous? They heal? Symbolize a person who will be wealthy-famous-low-powerful?

Any chance the book trailer will be out by Feb. 12th? We’re reading The False Prince for book club this month and I would love the chance to show them the book trailer for Mark of the Thief to promote it! My daughter just got your book from Scholastic Book Fair at school. It is called The Mark of the Thief, is this a solo book/stand alone book, or will it become part of series and if so are the others out there yet and their names to purchase them. My daughter always likes to read the whole series when reading books and in their correct order. Thanks.

The anticipation is killing me!! I plan on pre ordering a signed copy on The King’s English! Do you know when a paperback version will be come out? Do you think it will be a while like it was with The Shadow Throne?
Thanks, Dakota Rose! I know paperbacks can be ordered through Scholastic Book Fairs, but the regular release is hardback. usually the paperback comes out about 11 months after the hardback is released.
