QUOTE: In this scene, Chaya and Ester are trying to figure out a way to sneak inside the Lodz Ghetto, midway between Krakow and Warsaw.
The truck passed and we walked away from the direction it was driving in. When all was clear, she said, “I can’t help it. Chaya, how can you not be afraid?”
“Because it’s not possible to be afraid all the time!” I hissed. “I feel it, but I keep it in the background. You must use fear to sharpen your senses and heighten your instincts. It will drive your determination to stay alive, but it cannot control you.”
Her hand had stopped shaking, but not because of my words. For now, she was only pretending to have her fear under control, pretending that she could face what lay ahead. And for now, that would have to be enough.
If she could pretend well enough, then one day she would feel the churning in her stomach, the sweat on her palms, the pulse in her temples, and know that she was terrified because of what was about to happen. But she would go forward anyway.
Just as I would do tonight.
Because deep in my heart, I knew this was a bad idea. That sole thought occupied my mind as Ester and I stared at the ghetto in Lodz. It was the one place we’d been told never to go, considered the impossible ghetto. And we were going in.

Lol my guess would be the winner probably will get the chance to have his/her name be included as a character in one of your books?!
Hmm, I honestly don’t know, haha! A book poster maybe? Or an advanced copy of secret book you’re working on.

I always used denial. When I did a play I was always nervous, but I told myself that’s normal and shoved the fears of forgotten lines and mis-steps away and out of sight. I never thought of myself as someone who dealt with “stage fright” because I never wanted to freeze on stage, so I was almost having stage fright about stage fright. After doing drama right to my senior year I still have plenty of fears, but denial still works. If I start worrying about class due dates, scholarship applications, or what the heck I am doing after college? I might hyperventilate for a second alone in my room then I stop and deny those fears from keeping my from moving forward and start working on small steps that I can do now.
Omygosh, I feel so dumb. I shouldn’t have tried to answer so early in the morning. I thought the post said the question IN the quote. Maybe the super secret prize has to do with the super secret book projects?

I’m betting and hoping that the winner will be able to design a character of their own and you will somehow implement them in one of your future books. I thought of other things but I’m thinking they might be too simple.
This one is fun to try and guess. I think it’s either secret news about your new stuff coming out, or it’s the person who wins gets to help you with one of your projects, or maybe even they get to help you design something for one of the new projects. I’m sure it’s awesome and can’t wait to find out what it is! (Even if that’s not for a while.)
Maybe the person gets to be in the book acknowledgments. I’m not sure.

Hmm. I think it’s either getting a future character named after you or getting secret information about a book that nobody else knows about. Or maybe you don’t actually have any idea what it should be, so you’re hoping one of our comments sounds really exciting! 😉

I haven’t been on here in far to long, it’s already close to time for the new book launch! I can’t wait to give it a read.
My guess for the special surprise would be that the winner gets to write something in the book. Like something that a character says or a helps write a minor chapter.
My guess for the super secret prize is that the winner get to be able to read your super secret project in advance and be able to help in creating a character or certain plot outcomes. I don’t know, I’m not very good at guessing.

As for the question… hmmm…I don’t know! Not much is cooler than your books. maybe the special prize would be a role in another book trailer you are making? Ooh! Or maybe, the winner gets to choose the name of the main character in your next book!

My guess is that it either has something to do with naming/creating a character like a lot of other people have guessed, or it could be something along the lines of meeting you and getting to see your writing life and maybe help create something for a book or a plot. Oooh or it would be SUPER cool if it were a new book in the Ascendance Trilogy, like not apart of the trilogy, but in the same world with some of the same characters, but new people as the main characters, like everyones’ children! Or it would be great if the False Prince movie came out! That would be AMAZING!! Either way, I’m sure it will be EPIC!
