It’s almost time! Book 3 of THE TRAITOR’S GAME series will be released on March 3rd – only six weeks away!
For those who might have missed this series, here’s a quick recap.
THE TRAITOR’S GAME
The rebellion needs a magical artifact hidden somewhere within the Dominion’s walls. They’ve chosen a prized daughter of the Dominion, Kestra Dallisor, to retrieve it. But she has no intention of betraying her king and her family, and secretly plans to bring down the rebellion instead. Gradually, she begins to understand the rebellion and realized they might be right. Now she has a choice. She can either save her family or save her country, but she will not be able to do both!
THE DECEIVER’S HEART
Kestra has a chance to help with the war against the evil Lord Endrick, but it will require her to get magic, and magic always corrupts its user. No one is closer to Simon than Kestra, and he knows the rebellion needs her, but now he must confront the fact that the person he is falling in love with is not the person she will be once magic takes hold.
THE WARRIOR’S CURSE
Has the magic begun to corrupt Kestra, or is she simply being manipulated by others who wish to use their magic for their own purposes? Whatever the reason, Simon has to do what he thinks is right, and so will she. The problem is that it may now place them on opposite sides or the war.
Please consider reading the first…or the second book, or pre-ordering the third. I hope you will love it as much as I do!

Hi Jennifer! I have a question. What is the best way to publish a book and should you write it? Thanks
This is a tough question because it could take pages and pages to answer. I’d start just by writing the story and making it the best you possibly can. Once you get to that point, you can begin to explore the different options available and see what best fits with where you hope to go in publishing.
I’m in 6th grade and my parents probably won’t let me hire an editor for my story. What are some tips for self editing?
I think your parents are right about this, because editing is a skill you will need to learn as a writer. With my publisher, I have an editor who does A TON for me, but before my editor sees my manuscript, I’ve already been through it at least a dozen times, working to make it the best I can.
For editing, I move from the outside in, roughly in this order: Rewrite 1 – Fix major flaws and plot holes. 2 – Add detail and description 3 – Go through the manuscript with a focus on each specific character, ignoring the rest. 3 – Review the manuscript only for dialogue. 4 – Review for logical problems or rough areas. 5- After that, go over it and over it, looking for places where I could word something better, make a passage more clear, etc.
Rewrites aren’t always fun or easy, but they are what makes the difference between a story with good potential, and a story that can be published. Good luck!
Thanks for the help!
Oh I’m so excited! This has been such a great series the entire time. I can’t wait to see how it finished out!
Thank you!
Will you be touring for the new book?
Hi Stephanie – I’m not touring for THE WARRIOR’S CURSE, but I will probably be touring this fall for the fourth book of the False Prince series. Hopefully I will come somewhere near you!
That would be so awesome! Congrats on having both books out this year
Thank you!
I hope that Kestra and Simon develop more feelings for each other! The second book made me super excited to see what happens next!🙂 also when does it come out?
Thank you, and March 3rd!
Yay!!!!! I am so excited about this book! It has been marked on my calendar for the longest time and I just cannot wait. I have been fantasizing about how this series will end, and I can’t wait to see how everything finally turns out! Congratulations!!!!
Thank you!
I can’t wait!! The first two books have already made me love this trilogy so much!! I can’t wait to read this final book!! I have a feeling this book is going to pull my heart strings so hard! But it’s worth it! Kestra and Simon are just perfect for each other! I wish the rest of their world would see it! Nobody must get in their way!
I hope you’ll love the final book, Chloe!
Will you have an event for the King’s English for the Warrior’s Curse release?
Probably not, but there will probably be something this fall.
I have a question. Do you only tour within the United States, or do you go around the world?
Mostly I am in the U.S. – sometimes Canada, and occasionally outside the U.S., though not as often as I would like!
Hi Mrs. Nielsen! would you please let us know where you will be touring for the 4 th book of the Ascendance Series! I am so glad and already counting the days until October 2020. I would LOVE to come and meet you in person!!!
I will definitely post my tour info – thanks for asking, Lauren. I hope I’ll be coming somewhere near you!
OMG, I can not wait I love all of your books and am practically on my knees begging my parents to pre-orded both the Worrier’s Curse and the Captive Kingdom. From the minute I started the The ascendance trilogy (I’m still not used to calling it series) I knew that Jennifer would be my favorite author. Thank you so much for being such an amazing author, I don’t know where I would be today without your books!
Thank you, Noa.
Will this be the final installment of the series?
Probably, though one never knows for sure!
AAAAAAH!!!!! ITS COMING TOMORROW!!!!! I’ve been waiting a year and can’t wait!!!!
