    I’m interested in purchasing a signed book from you as I did last year. Will the Three Goats Gruff bookstore be taking orders for this? I’d love to meet you in person but North Carolina is a few miles away from UT. Have enjoyed your False Prince series. Thanks

    Hey miss Nelson quick question
    Do you have to sign up for both of the meetings (for zoom) or are they going over the same thing?

      They will be the same thing, more or less, though the Q&A is likely to be different.

    Congratulations on the launch of The Shattered Castle! I came across The False Prince back in 2017 when I discovered the trilogy (when it was just a trilogy) in a book store that was going to permanently close. Every book was extremely cheap, so I decided to buy the trilogy and luckily I happened to buy a signed copy of The False Prince. This year, I read the Captive Kingdom and have been eagerly waiting for the final installment of this wonderful series!

    My question for you is: how do you approach world-building in your stories, particularly with the Ascendance series? How do you come up with the names of countries and their culture? How do you build a world that is immersive and believable? I’m currently working on a high-fantasy story and the hardest aspect of planning this story for me is creating a world with a rich history. I would be very grateful to hear your insight on world-building!

      Thanks for your compliments! Understand that with world building, every decision is going to impact other aspects of the world, which will then impact your story. Try starting by creating a map, because that will force you to make a lot of key decisions: how many rivers or mountains or desert or jungle areas. What countries surround yours and are they friendly? Consider how cities form in real life: usually along waterways or near ports. Those will likely be your bigger population areas. Just by putting the map together, you will already be well on your way to making key decisions for your story. Good luck!

    Congratulations on the launch of The Shattered Castle! I remember first getting this trilogy as a random buy from a permanently closing book store and I definitely don’t regret it. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the final installment of this series! I really hope Jaron is able to live the rest of his life in peace and happiness with his found family, as it seems something always disrupts his life. Roden has been my favorite character throughout the series, as his development from trying to be something that he isn’t to finding worth in himself in what he is meant to do was compelling to me.

      Definitely – that is always Roden’s hardest battle.

    I love your books! Sage is one of my all-time favorite book characters ever, I read all 4 books in 4 days! I can’t wait for this book launch. Here is a question i have: How do you come up with such strong characters in your books? They all have some similar aspects, but each of them are so unique too. When i write, I always end up taking so much time figuring out one character, that the others aren’t what i want them to be. Do you have any tips on that? Thanks!

      Hi Molly;

      Try pulling a single underdeveloped character into your life for a while, asking them questions that have nothing to do with the story. Find out what kind of music they like, what they do for fun, what they’re good at, and especially, find out their secret. Let them hang out with you until you get a stronger sense for who they are.

    Just registered! Looking forward!!!
    Will there be a special page to submit questions and stuff, or do we do that here? or do we ask them at the launch?
