And finally, some really nice news. First is that the most wonderful R.L. Stein (Goosebumps) picked THE FALSE PRINCE as one of his favorite books, describing it here as “A wonderful old-fashioned adventure fantasy with a snarky, smart-aleck protagonist – a totally appealing boy named Sage, who doesn’t follow any rules – filled with the kinds of twists I love.”
Second is that in recent weeks, THE FALSE PRINCE was chosen by young readers as their favorite book in its category in Oklahoma (Sequoyah Book Award), Nebraska (Golden Sower Award), South Dakota (Young Adult Reading Program Award), and Louisiana (Young Readers’ Choice Award). My thanks to readers in all of those states (and in other states where THE FALSE PRINCE was nominated for book awards), for your votes!
UPDATE: It’s also a winner in California (California Young Readers Medal). Thank you, Golden State!

Wow. Small world. R L Stein’s Goosebumps was turned into a TV series. The executive producer is Deborah Forte. Deborah Forte is an executive producer of The False Prince movie.

Did you know that the books stacked on top of each other with their titles is called a Spine Poem? It’s really funny because I have to do one for homework. I really wanted to incorporate one of your books, but it just didn’t fit in with the rest of my poem. I was really disappointed! Haha
I’d never heard of Spine Poetry before seeing that picture, but it definitely made me smile. I hope your poem turned out well too!

The drawing looks cool and the joke below made me funny… I started reading the shadow throne and I am in the chapter where a really bad happen to Imogen (Seriously Miss Jen why?…And its not even halfway of the book). That happening makes me feel to know more what will be the ending of the series. But I really felt sad for Imogen 🙁
Those are some tough chapters, I agree. But keep reading and let me know at the end if you liked the book!
I finally finished reading the book Miss Jen and I actually didn’t see that coming (You really got me there and I also bet the other readers as well were shocked about Imogen hehe…). I love the twists you delivered/executed in your last book for the series. I also love the feeling of wanting to know more of what will happen next to the story ( it is a real page turner). I was also shocked about Harlowe and Roden too (Indeed it is really a small world after all). Overall, I really love the ending of the series and I love how Jaron outwits the king of Avenia. After all, Jaron really is a witty, good leader and I admire him for that. These were some of my favorite phrases from the book Miss Jen:
1. “If you hurt deeply, then it means you love deeply too.” Mott to Jaron (Chapter 23)
2. “I’m not buying my freedom because you never owned it. But I am taking it back for me and my country.” Jaron to Commander Vinegar-aka kippenger haha… (Chapter 41)
I hoped you will do a prequel to this series Miss Jen and the story will depict a fuller detail of how Jaron survived the pirates and ended up in the orphanage. And still finger crossed for a movie of this series 🙂 And lastly, You really did a great job Miss Jen in ending this series!!! I am happy for you for the awards/recognition you received.

I will totally wait for that book Miss Jen and hopefully to see my name as one of the characters in the story plot (Haha just kidding Miss Jen-IN MY WILDEST DREAMS, I know it is impossible XD). But for now I will support your new books. I think the standalone novel A night divided will capture the hearts of the readers once it is being released. I like the story plot of that novel of yours.

I was wondering… who creates your book covers? They’re really talented! 🙂 Do you know what program/software they use? I have a project from school that I need to use good editing programs for, and I can’t seem to find any. Seemed like I should ask the best author in the world about who designed her books! 😉
Hi Isabella (and thank you). Scholastic has a whole art team responsible for creating the covers, though I don’t know what programs they use. Start with where your art skills are best – photography, hand drawn art, or computer designed art. Then you’ll at least know what type of program you’re looking for. Good luck!

There’s already been a giveaway for MARK OF THE THIEF, but I’ll probably do a giveaway on the second book this winter. My next giveaway is coming up very soon – for A NIGHT DIVIDED. I should be posting the rules sometime this week (one I figure out what they’ll be).

It’s kind of sad because in my area, nobody reads, unless it’s required by school. Also, I tried to get people in my classes to read The False Prince, and succeeded with only 2, out of the 25 (approximately)
That happens in some areas, or at some times of life, but all you can do is suggest that people read and what they do with their time is their choice after that. I still appreciate you recommending the book. Maybe down the road they’ll decide to pick it up!

Adina – When I first started writing, I wasn’t at all good. But I kept working at it, and so if you like my stories, that’s all because I’ve practiced! I’m glad you enjoyed The False Prince!
I love you books! The false prince book series is my favorite book series. When i read your books I feel like I am apart of the story. I love the characters and their personalty’s. I love the unsuspected twists and the romance. I love the adventure and violence. Can you please make a 4th book for the false prince series?
