WORDS ON FIRE Cover Reveal!

Cover reveals are always exciting! This time it’s for my next historical coming this October: WORDS ON FIRE! To read more about it, please visit BookPage – my thanks to them for hosting the cover reveal!

You can pre-order the book now, and while you’re at it, why not get the second book of the Traitor’s Game series, THE DECEIVER’S HEART! Coming Feb 26, 2019.

If you haven’t read THE TRAITOR’S GAME yet, it’s on sale for Kindle for $1.99. Check it out!

In this sequel to the instant New York Times bestseller The Traitor’s Game, Kestra Dallisor has finally gained possession of the Olden Blade. With the dagger in her control, she attempts to destroy the tyrannical Lord Endrick. But when Kestra fails, the king strips her of her memory, and leaves her weak and uncertain, bound to obey him. Heartbroken, Simon is desperate to return Kestra to the rebel she was, but refuses to use magic to heal her. With untrusting Coracks and Halderians threatening to capture and kill her, and war looming on the horizon, Kestra and Simon will have to learn to trust each other again if they have any hope of surviving. But can a heart once broken ever be healed?

The Deceiver’s Heart marks a stunning return to Jennifer A. Nielsen’s gorgeously rendered world of Antora and all its treachery and magic.

Ooooo, I love it! I like how all of your historicals follow a pattern even if they technically don’t overlap. I am excited to read it especially since I often think of what I would do to hide my books should anything happen. Perhaps a bit paranoid, but coming up with good hiding places is fun.

I love the cover and I can’t wait to read Words on Fire!

I find it interesting that the covers of all your historical fiction books show the back of the girl instead of her face. Is this just what has happened to work aesthetically for each cover, or is this something you have specifically asked the cover artists to do?

Nah, not me. This was an editorial decision to keep a uniform look for all the covers, but I really like it.

This is awesome, and it looks really neat when you put all three of them together (obviously I can’t with a physical book, yet, but the pics in a Word doc).

Hi, I loved the Ascendance trilogy! My favorite was The Runaway King, the book covers for your new book is gorgeous! I loved your books so much I had them checked out from the Library always until I finally bought them I have never read a book so good as yours. Also have you ever thought about making a second series about Jaron and Imogen life after the war?

I noticed how in all of your historical fiction books, the main character is always positioned facing her problem. It seems so symbolic. I love all of your books and can’t wait to read both of these! By the way, thank you for coming to our school earlier this year.(Monroe Elementary) I really enjoyed your visit! 🙂

Thank you, Chloe – I think that is a theme my editor and illustrator developed and have been really proud of, for that very reason. If you want to have some fun with it – line up copies of A NIGHT DIVIDED side by side and notice how the wall just goes on and on and on.
