For my librarian friends;
I know it’s been a rough year with the pandemic. If you are in an area that is still feeling the impact, I hope you’ll return to a more normal situation soon.
However, if your school expects to be open in this coming school year, then you may be interested in booking an author visit.
I am booking visits now, but I’d love to add more. As an incentive, I’m offering a steep discount on my usual honorariums for all bookings made by August 13, 2021.
If you’d like more details, please feel free to reach out to me at jen@jennielsen.com
TO STUDENTS: If you’re interested in having me come to your school, feel free to share this with your school librarian. It might also help to offer them some cookies!

That is so cool! My school won’t be open for that, but I wish I could be present for a visit!
Good luck!
OMG! Would you be coming in-Person? Does it have to be a school library, can it be like any public library (idk how that works haha)
It could be a public library but generally the invitations come from a school. Sometimes the public library becomes part of the invitation though.
Wow, this is really fun! I’ll email my librarian and let her know! I hope you’ll be able to come!
That sounds absolutely amazing!! I’ll have to see if my school library would like that, I’m not sure how that would work, do you have more information about it somewhere?
The librarian is welcome to email me and I can answer all of her questions. Thank you!
WOW! It’s so cool that you’re doing this!
This sounds so cool! Unfortunately, I’m homeschooled.
Are you visiting the east coast at all? We are in northwestern CT, about 2.5 hours out of NYC. We regularly use The False Prince as a class novel.
Thank you. I don’t currently have plans to travel there but feel free to email me if you want to look at the possibility of diverting me your way!
I’ll try as well! It’s awesome that you’re doing this!
Do you visit public library’s, because if you do you HAVE to visit mine!
I absolutely do, but public libraries generally don’t have the funds to bring in an author on their own, unfortunately.
If you are a teacher or librarian, and you are reading the comments wondering about this, it would likely be the best idea you have all year if you give it a shot. I was a teacher that had never hosted an author visit. Then I hosted Jennifer at my school about five years ago, and then virtually during the pandemic and it had a huge impact on my students each time. She is a really great speaker who inspired our students to write and made several of them feel individually very special by sharing just a few words or a quick moment.
Aw, thanks, Aaron!
I AM FREAKING OUT! I would love to have you come to my school! That would be the highlight of my life! I will send my librarians this link ASAP!
on a side note, my birthday is in September and i would love if you could come, even if it was just for 25 minuets. if that is possible at all could you please email me? But i know you busy so I understand if you cant.
I agree, Brooklyn, that would be really cool. Fingers crossed!
Are you going to Rocky Mountain Middle School in Idaho Falls and if so when are you going?
I don’t think I have finalized anything with them. I would love to come, though!
