Based on your responses, I think the books I already have coming up for you are going to be exactly what you’re hoping for! In my current release schedule is more medieval fantasy, another historical, and something in a genre brand new for me. One has a lot of romance, another has a little, and a third has almost none. They all have characters I hope you’ll love, and the usual things you’d expect from any of my books. I can’t wait to introduce you to them!

Scourge_LGHowever, for now – did you know it’s August, and at the end of this month, THE SCOURGE is going to be released! So for this week’s entries, I am asking you to tell people about it:

A. On your favorite social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. My Twitter and Instagram handle is @nielsenwriter, but  if you can’t or don’t tag me in, just let me know that you’ve talked about the book in the comments below.

B. Add the book on Goodreads here.

C. If you aren’t on social media, then you need to tell someone about the book. But not just say, “Hey, stuffed animal friend of mine, THE SCOURGE releases this month.” Tell your local librarian, a friend who might be interested in one of my books, someone who asks what you want for your approaching birthday, or anyone you think might want a great end-of-summer read!

D. Pre-order the book from your local bookstore, online, or put your name on the waiting list for it at your library.

Post in comments which you did, A, B, C, and/or D. I’ll trust you. Because you’re one of my readers, so I already know you’re awesome!

Thanks for the poll results! I posted about the giveaway and that The Scourge is releasing soon. And I told the librarian at my public library, and my friend who loves your books. I’ve had The Scourge on my birthday list ever since the year started, so I don’t think that should count.
I’m so excited for your next books! The medieval, historical and the new genre with lots, little or no romance. I loved A Night Divided, so I can’t wait for the historical! I can’t wait to read The Scourge, too! Thanks for hosting the giveaway!

I thoroughly loved A Night Divided. In the fall our school librarian had a Scholastic book fair. I purchased several books for my students who didn’t have money to purchase any, and one of them was A Night Divided. The boy for whom I bought this book left it behind in my room at the end of school, so I took it home to read over this summer. Well, I picked it up on Thursday evening and just finished it this morning, Sunday. I read it each night before bed, the time I give my permission for “me time.” The book was so intriguing, the time period historical of a time in which I grew up, the quotes above each chapter were especially pertinent to the chapter, and the main character a girl who sounded as strong as I was as a young person. I so enjoyed this book. Since I teach 7th grade English, perhaps I can order a class set and use this book toward the end of the year to align with the social studies teacher’s subject of WWII. Thank you again for such a brilliant story. I’m so glad Gerta pestered you to finally write this story. I’d love to read its sequel. Thank you!

I’ll take option E, as a librarian I “sell” your books to as many kids as possible. The False Prince is a huge hit with my 4th-8th graders and my elementary kids were pissed when A Night Divided came out on the middle school Oregon Battle of the Books list – they all wanted it for their division! (I’ll probably do option D several times over as soon as I see my budget in September)
