I have a quick question; if we’re writing a story and want to use the name of the store, would we have to get that store’s permission first?

    • Reply
      September 16, 2016, 9:43 pm

Usually it’s okay. Since it’s a public store, there’s a fair use of the name. However, if you’re going to say bad things about the store, I’d just make up a fictional name, just to avoid trouble.

I read this book. I think it’s great. But, every time I read a book, it’s my new favorite. This was an amazing experience, and I feel like it could not be any better. This book inspires the pent up writer inside me, who is h held down by my lack of dedication. All that my inner writer wants is to escape, but, saddly there are good reasons it can’t. Numero uno, I’m twelve. Numero dos, I don’t feel like it. Numero the third one, I am so shy I can hardly show my stories to my mom without having a panic attack. Four, I ramble.

      September 23, 2016, 3:52 am

Thanks much, grateful reader! But there are some things your pent up inner writer should know. Numero uno, twelve years old was when I started writing. It’s a great age to start because you’re at that perfect balance between endless imagination and enough knowledge of writing rules. Also, you don’t have to write well at age 12. You only have to write what you enjoy. Numero dos, if you don’t feel like it, that’s cool, but when you are in the mood, if you try putting a story together, I bet you’ll enjoy it! And numero third one, you don’t have to show your stories to anyone, not yet. But when you do, remember that you will always be your own greatest critic. And besides, even if someone does have a criticism, it’s only of the words on the page. It’s not a criticism of you. Four, I ramble too. I totally understand! Thanks for reading!

Wow. I just finished The Scourge and it was absolutely AMAZING! I read it all in one day. I couldn’t put it down! It was so suspenseful, entertaining, and inspiring! I love Ani’s determination and courage, and Weevil’s kindness and loyalty. Are ever going to make a sequel for it, or a series? Or is it a stand alone? I hope it is a series!!!! Thanks for all the amazing books!

From where did you get the name “Ani” and “Weevil”?

    • Reply
      October 1, 2016, 5:48 pm

Thanks, Coral! Ani’s name doesn’t have any particularly unique origin – I just liked it. Weevil’s name came because I wanted something that was just a horrible name that no one would want, because I knew he would be a kid who liked his name anyway.

    Hey
Since I am a major Harry Potter nerd I have to ask, what hogwarts house would you place these Ascendance Trilogy. (If you don’t know the house traits, just look them up. It’s all over google)

    1. Sage/Jason
    2. Tobias
    3. Roden
    4. Imogen
    5. Amarinda
    6. Fink

      Interesting question. Okay, here goes:
      1. Sage: Sage would’ve chosen Gryffindor, but could’ve also gone to Ravenclaw or Slytherin.
      2. Tobias: Ravenclaw
      3. Roden: Gryffindor
      4. Imogen: Gryffindor
      5. Amarinda: Hufflepuff
      6. Fink: Gryffindor

Time would be in the approximate 1400’s. The place is Carthya, a fictional kingdom.
