Which Book to Read? Jennifer Nielsen October 23, 2018

Which Book to Read?

If you want to read one of my books, but don’t know where to start, I created this super confusing infographic that will no doubt leave you with multiple migraines. So before you peruse it, consider these questions…

1.  Did you enjoy one of my fantasy series?

  • The Ascendance Series
  • Mark of the Thief
  • The Traitor’s Game

– If so, maybe try one of the other series?

– If you started book one, have you read the rest of the books?

2.  Did you enjoy one of my historical novels?

  • Resistance
  • A Night Divided

3.  Are you wondering what is coming next?

  • Book 2 of The Traitor’s Game series: THE DECEIVER’S HEART (Feb 26, 2019)
  • THE CARRIER (History of the Lithuanian Book Smugglers) (Fall 2019)
  • Super Secret Project (Announcement Coming Soon – I hope!) (Fall 2020)

4. Bottom line, whether it’s my books, or someone else’s books, I hope you read!

This is so neat! I’ve read all of your books! Well, all of them except the underworld chronicles… What age group do you recommend for this series?? Also, can you tell us what The Carrier will be about? I’m super excited for this book!

Underworld Chronicles is for an elementary audience, mostly. THE CARRIER is about the book smugglers of Lithuania who snuck books into their country to save it from the Russian Empire. It’s based on a real time and real events.

I cannot wait for your super secret announcement! I wonder what it is?! I am also looking forward to your next installment of the Traitor’s Game! I hope to read more from you soon. Best wishes on your future writing!
Also, just curious, but will you ever announce who won your last giveaway or what the secret prize was, or is that unnecessary?
    Thank you.

Thanks, Abby – and I hope you’ll love THE DECEIVER’S HEART! I didn’t publicly announce the winners of the last giveaway because many of them were from other non-online sources, so I didn’t want to put their names out there, and didn’t want to announce a partial list of winners, but they were contacted.

I’ve been anticipating The Deceiver’s Heart like no tomorrow, yet I had no idea “Resistance” had even been written! I really need to keep up with the news. After all, I’m pretty sure you could not write I book I didn’t like. 🙂

Confusing-ish 😂, but helpful! Thanks for this 😀 I can’t wait for THE DECEIVER’S HEART! THE TRAITOR’S GAME is what got me out of a deep reading slump, so I am so excited to see what else is in store!

Mrs. Jen, I have read all of your books and loved every one of them. I’ve fallen in love with the same characters over and over again and know the plot forwards, backwards, and inside out. Neverthesless, every time I pick one of them up, the same euphoria that overcame the first time I read it, overcomes me again and again and again. I’ve run out of books to read and have to wait “patiently” for The Deceiver’s Heart.
You have no idea how excited I am for The Deciever’s Heart. I am super nervous at the same time though because I read blurb!!! Can’t wait for February 26th!!! (I’ll finally have a good book to read)

Thanks, Evangeline! And yes, you might need to be a bit nervous about the second book. I mean, would I really be such a cruel author as to make things that tough for my characters?

      Well, yes actually, I would.

Your books are my favourites!! I just finished reading the Ascendance Trilogy for the fourth time and it never gets old! I got my brother to read it (and the Mark if the Thief books too) and he says the False Prince is his all-time favourite book! We got two of my cousins, and now they’re getting their friends to read your books too! I think it’s awesome.
Also, every time I think about how they stopped making the False Prince movie I feel so sad, it could be a great movie!!

Wow, thank you Gabrielle! Though I do feel a movie will happen eventually. When it’s right, and when the movie that’s made is the one that ought to be made.

I’ve read the Ascendance trilogy in English, then in French…then I read it all over again, like 5 times. I loved the Mark of the thief trilogy and The Scourge and when I read The Traitor’s Game, I couldn’t shut up about it for about 5 weeks straight. I loved it so much I read it in book form, then ebook form, then audiobook just to see if it would get any better. Anyway, I guess I’m just really excited about The Deceiver’s Heart coming out. I can’t wait. Your books have always been a great inspiration to me as an aspiring writer.

I gotta be honest, Leo, I don’t want you to die. Therefore, if the secret project is a False Prince prequel, I will cancel it immediately. Thanks for the heads up! 😉

I started reading your books this year and now I read for almost two hours when I can on your books. Your books are the best thing I have ever read and I almost finished all of them. I also hope that the super secret project is a prequel to the False Prince Trilogy.

Just finished the first two books in the Ascendence trilogy-am waiting to go to the library to get the final book. I recommended this trilogy to my Mom-she loves it-and my brothers are fighting over who gets to finish the book first. Am so excited to read all of your other books!?
